So..  In my long absence, I did do some shopping.  Ok. A lot.

Have I started any of these?  Nope. But I love them all. :)

Long time, no blog

I'm back to my blog!  Work has been crazy and so has life. Molly went through a bit of a health scare about the time I stopped blogging. Her vet thought she had congestive heart failure, but luckily a dog cardiologist confirmed that she did not. Football season has kept me busy with trips and watching games.

Since July, I've turned in a few pieces for finishing, acquired a few, and stitched a few.

The first is the Labrador Inn that came back from the framer.

But I didn't like it. It was too dark. So it went back for new ribbons and a new frame.

I got these back from the finisher.

Next up, more new canvases and progress pictures.

New canvases

Must have a thing for Brenda Stofft's canvases!

And the I got this one on super sale at Chaparral.

Followed by these two from the Quarter Stitch in New Orleans. My family and I had a blast there celebrating my sister's 21st birthday!  Spa trips, drinking,  beignets, delicious food, and history all in one!

This is a Clementine Hunter design on canvas.

This next one is by the fabulous Melissa Shirley.

Pat O'Brien's for a delicious hurricane!

Jackson Square

St. Louis cathedral

Pirate's Alley

The apartment where Tennessee Williams wrote "A Streetcar Named Desire".

Corn stock fence.

Just a building :)

Cafe de Monde

And then home to this cutie!

Finishes!

For some reason, I've been tearing though my stash. I've been trying to finish pieces I've started and only start new ones that are already kitted.

This summer, my sister is going through my fibers and recording each one on an excel spreadsheet. I'm hoping to avoid spending money on threads I already have. Especially when I only need a bit.

These are my finishes so far.

This is a Chrismon for Camp Allen with my initials and year on the back. I'm excited to have turned this in ( and about 9 other pieces) during the Chaparral finishing sale!

I also finished the sampler which is off to the framers.

Very wonderful needlepoint gifts

Over the past month, I've been so lucky to have received some needlepoint related gifts from two great stitchy friends. I wanted to show them off because they are so neat!

A cool double sided frame weight with one end that hangs over the canvas and on the table. It's made of suede and so soft!

And a wonderful (and strong) magnet. I love the suit jacket!  So beautiful and elegant just like my stitching friend!

I have to throw in a picture of Molly!

Over a month???

I can't believe it's been over a month since I last posted! I've been working away although not quite as much as I would like.

The week before Memorial Day I went to Camp Allen with my stitching friends and had a ball!  I love Camp- never thought I would say that!

This is what I worked on:

It now looks like this!

Woo hoo!  Finished!!

A few more pretty terrible pics of a great canvas:  love the ribbon work, the flair carrots, and the beaded snowflakes. The bunny is felted with roving wool. ( thank you Karen Lea!)

Pictures of finished pieces.

I've been really bad at posting pictures of finshed finished pieces. Here are a few that I've gotten back so far.  Some of these were from the fall. I have three more pieces at the finisher including one at the framer.

This is the Princess and Me alligator that I got at Camp Allen. How it will be finished is still up in the air.

The Bama Girl pillow is back! Hard to photgraph but the fabric is black on black with black fringe. Love the look!

A valentine's pillow I got back in the fall.

This is one of my first pieces ever completed. It was purchased at Meribee Needlearts near my grandma on FM 1960. I got this one back in the fall too.

This is a Kathy Schenkle that I purchased at Bessie Kaldis' estate sale.

The Charley Harper basset hound!!

With the rest of the pillows!

For my mom for Mother's Day!  A Melissa Shirley Scottish Santa!
