Finishing changes

I got these back from the finisher and they are adorable!  But the hangers were out of proportion with the dresses and sweaters.

So I went online and asked the Facebook needlepoint group where to go to purchase different black, wire doll hangers. The Country Porch had exactly what I was looking for- a 3" hanger. And look at the difference.

More finishes

In Midland, I have a housekeeper, which is something I plan to replicate on Houston when I get back. It's been really nice to be able to needlepoint on the weekends and not worry about cleaning beyond just straightening up.

This is what I have accomplished:  lots of little pieces but I've loved clearing these out of my stash.

The sweaters are stitched mostly in criss cross Hungarian and all of the thread is vineyard merino.

And this is what I'm working on now.

Camp Allen Canvas sale

It's that time of year again!  Time for the annual Camp Allen stash sale!  I love this sale because every single cent goes towards scholarships to send kids to camp.

This is my haul from this year.

This one is completely stitched!

Midland Needlepoint

For the past few months, I've been on a temporary assignment in Midland, Texas. I'm living in a corporate apartment and I love it!  It's fully furnished and I've been able to travel on the weekends to Carlabad Caverns, Monahans Sand Dunes State Park, and most relevant, Lubbock to visit Pocket Full of Stitches. This store is the best!  All sorts of threads and canvases and books. I got this cute little Associated Talents bunny there and finished it in no time.

My first month in Midland, I finished this piece too. It's number two of five in a Christmas carol series.

And this cute one!  It's a Barbara Bergsten canvas I got from the Needleworks in Austin in 2013, but wanted since 2010!  It's perfect.

I'm also almost done with this Stitch It's Sweater.

Starting the new year off right!

This year, I've resolved to be a better blogger, among other things. So in that vein, it's fitting my first post should be on the 1st.

I have lots of new canvases to show, but the pictures didn't turn out so well because of all of the grey Texas days we've been having.

Until I get the pictures, here is a progress picture of one of my petei nativity canvases.

I've completed Mary and Jesus, and now I'm working on Joseph.
