Progress on this and that....

I apologize for being gone for so long.  I had about 5 posts ready to publish, and I thought I set them up automatically to post, but obviously they did not.

The beginning of the year has brought lots of starts and one finish.

I started the Liz Lab canvas I got for Christmas.

It is going to be an exercise in "light stitching" because I am trying to capture the shading.  This canvas could be a piece of art as-is, and I don't want to spoil that by trying to tent everything and having it look  striped. I've stitched the lower left half of the dog and a bit of the ground.  Progress is slow because of the reverse stitching that I have done and a single strand of Belle Soie silk is hard to see without light!

I started and finished this Roll Tide piece in 2013.  I used Kreinik, Bella Lusso White, Neon Rays, and Gloriana in Black Cherry for the red.  Roll Tide Roll!!  National Champs 2012!

I am working on the Labrador Inn piece too.  I want to finish this so badly to frame it and then display it!  Fingers fly!

This is an all tent stitch piece that matches my Aggie stocking.  I am using Planet Earth wool, which is FABULOUS!  I cannot recommend it enough.  This is a good piece to stitch while I am visiting my grandma.  She has been in and out of the hospital and now she is in a pseudo-nursing home.  I hope she gets better soon.

2013 Goals

My goal for this year is 12 finishes, which is one per month.  I accomplished 13 last year (2012) and roughly the same amount in 2011.  This year I would like to complete:

KS Bama Mini Sock
Painted Pony A&M and DZ angels
DJ Designs Lab with Ball
Cooper Oaks Labrador Inn
Elizabeth Turner Blue Rug

That's 6- so we will see where the wind takes me with the other 5.  As a stretch goal, I would really like to finish my stocking.  Lots to do! But so much fun!

I like to set stitching goals, not to stress myself out, but to have a sense of purpose and feeling of accomplishment when I look back on the year.  I am excited to see how many stash canvses I can clean out this year too!
